Now that January has passed and Christmas festivities and the New Year are a distant memory it will not be long before our first golf meeting of 2008. Firstly though I would like to take this opportunity to thank Paul Smith for his captaincy last year, he was a pleasure to work with and showed great enthusiam, even his speeches improved by December!! It is you the members which make this society successful so thank you to for supporting Paul and I hope you will show the same support to our captain for 2008.... Brian Bett

 

 

I would like to welcome the new members to the society and we hope you enjoy the days in 2008. The basic rules of our society are; dress in the required manner at all times and make sure you can count. If you can do that you will enjoy your time with us if however you cannot then your stay will be a short one !!

 

 

The committee will soon of confirmed all the dates and venues for the coming year however the first date for your diaries will be the 17^th March at Brookmans Pk G.C. The list for this day will open one month before as normal.

 

 

Terry Saberi resigned from the committee at the end of the year due to work/time constraints so a big thank you to him for all he has done for us. Welcome and thank you to Taffy Jones and Terry Flack for joining the committee, without volunteers to help we cannot exist. To try and help the committee judge the numbers for this years meetings we will be posting a list so members can indicate as early as possible their intentions to attend any days. This list is not a binding contract just to help us evaluate the numbers for future days and to be able to provide the hosting clubs with a more accurate figure. So please spend a few minutes filling this out in the next few weeks.

 

 

This year is the 60^th Anniversary of Potters Bar Crusaders and there will be many events to celebrate this milestone over the summer months. This will include an invite to members of the original Crusaders golf society which was formed in 1970 to either play with the current society or to pop along in the evening for a drink chat etc.Further details to follow.

 

Should members contact details have changed please inform any of the committee. It is especially important that addresses and email addresses are current as if my records are outdated you will not be receiving notification of the societies events. Any new or updated records can be sent to me at jon.bartlett1@ntlworld.com

 

 

It is much easier and cheaper to communicate the societies events by e-mail. We also have a web page on the main Crusaders site which will have full details of the upcoming season please add it to your favourites.

Over ther next few weeks there will be a ‘Honours Board’ for the society mounted at the clubhouse. This will record those individuals who Chair/Captain the society or win the Order of Merit trophy. So practise hard, get to the events, play well and your name could be added in gold letters to the already impressive list.
