Welcome to 2009
Dear Member, 28th Jan 2009
Welcome to 2009 I hope we have another successful year. Firstly many thanks to Brian Bett for all his efforts as Captain of our society the smooth running of the presentations will be sorely missed !! Seriously though without volunteers like Brian and others the society would cease to exist. 2008 provided us with some great days and more first time winners. Also congratulations again to Johnny Jones on his 'Hole in One' at Brookmans Park last March. Lets not forget the two most important members of the society Debbie & Jan.... Thanks from everyone for the lovely grub...
Now onto 2009 and a big welcome to Mark Woods and may his year as our captain be successful. Mark along with the committee have now finalised the society days for the year and the details can be found under this introduction.
Those of you who attended the A.G.M. will be aware of the following but the 60% of our members who didn't attend (bigger effort for this year please) there were certain changes made to the rules of the society which i have set out below
i) All members will pay the full cost of the day regardless of membership of the club visited
ii) All members attending the Captains Day will be expected to wear Jacket & Tie (Society tie preferably, see Terry Flack)
iii) Any member not attending at least one event during the year may forfeit his membership.
Many thanks to all my colleagues on the committee who have agreed to serve another year, we have almost sorted out the membership for 2009. Once again we will be inviting new members to the society as others leave. However the society remains popular and demand for places will be higher than we can accomodate. Apologies to those people whom we have not been able to offer membership to, hopefully we can rectify this situation next year.
Should members contact details have changed please inform any of the committee. It is especially important that addresses and email addresses are current as if my records are outdated you will not be receiving notification of the societies events. Any new or updated records can be sent to me at jon.bartlett1@ntlworld.com
It is much easier and cheaper to communicate the societies events by e-mail. We also have a web page on the main Crusaders site which will have full details of the upcoming season please add it to your favourites.
Well it just leaves me to wish you all a happy golfing year ahead and I hope to see as many of you as possible at Sandy Lodge
